Green chalcedony, has been used by humans for thousands of years. Its name comes from the ancient town of Chalcedon in what is now Turkey. Archaeological evidence shows that chalcedony was used as early as 32,000 BC in Central Australia for tools, and later by the Greeks and Romans for cameos, seals, and intaglios because hot wax wouldn’t stick to it.In ancient cultures, it was revered across Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Buddhism, often symbolizing protection, goodwill, and spiritual insight. This green variety, sometimes called chrysoprase, was especially prized for its vibrant color, which comes from trace amounts of nickel.

Green chalcedony is often associated with emotional healing, communication, and balance.
