A sterling silver necklace with Malachite and Amethyst, with the shape of a heart on the back.

Malachite has always carried the reputation of being a stone with presence. People across different cultures have treated it as a guardian stone, because it absorbs what the body and spirit can’t hold anymore.

In ancient cultures, especially in Egypt, it was linked to rebirth and the feminine mysteries, connected to goddesses who governed transformation, intuition, and the cycles of life.

Energetically, malachite is known for drawing out what’s stagnant. It brings emotions, patterns and truths to the surface so they can be released. That’s why people often describe it as a catalyst stone. It pushes movement where there has been hesitation, and it encourages honesty with oneself.

Malachite is associated with the deeper emotional core of the heart,  where courage and vulnerability meet.

In folklore, it was worn by travellers and children for protection, carved into amulets to guard against envy, illness, or misfortune.

In Russia, it became a symbol of luxury and spiritual refinement, used in palaces and sacred spaces because its patterns were believed to mirror the natural flow of energy.

In the Middle East and North Africa, it was used as a pigment for sacred art, linking it to beauty, devotion, and the unseen world.

Amethyst has always been closely associated with Buddha and is often chosen to make mala beads (prayer) The gemstone was also widely used for relaxing techniques such as yoga, as it was said to have protective and restorative qualities. Wearers had a penchant for its deep, transfixing colour and believed that it would help them restore balance in their lives and ultimately facilitate mindfulness in its ancient form.

It wasn't only used for this process of mental healing, though; many Tibetans believed in its abilities to heal physical wounds, so it was used in collaboration with the medicinal practices of the time.

Amethyst is believed to possess spiritual properties and they can be used to support raising your level of consciousness. They form a bridge between worldly and etheric worlds, opening up to spiritual awareness.

Ancient Greeks believed that amethyst protected against intoxication, they even drank from amethyst cups in hopes of curbing their hangovers as they also believed it to be an antidote. Midieval soldiers would wear amethyst because they had faith that it brought healing and that the gemstone could keep them cool-headed.
