Benefits of cloves and roses
Roses are cherished in aromatherapy for their prominent effects in relieving stress and anxiety, as well as for their sweet and floral aroma that can evoke feelings of emotional wellbeing and romance.

Roses appear in accounts from all of the world's major religions as a symbol of miraculous love at work in the world. In ancient mythology, roses symbolized eternal love in stories of how gods interacted with each other and human beings. Pagans use roses as decorations to represent their hearts. Hindus and Buddhists see roses and other flowers as expressions of spiritual joy.

Christians view roses as reminders of the Garden of Eden, and Mother Mary is often seen surrounded by roses when she is invoked as Queen of All Saints and the Rosa Mystica.

Cloves are one of the most ancient and revered spices, carrying both practical and mystical significance. Metaphysically, cloves are often associated with protection, purification, and prosperity. Their strong, warm aroma is believed to drive away negative energies and unwanted influences, making them a common ingredient in incense blends or protective charms. In magical traditions, cloves are often used to attract love and abundance, often placed in sachets or burned to draw prosperity into the home. They are also thought to sharpen focus and intuition, aiding meditation and divination. Because of their fiery nature, cloves symbolize vitality, passion, and transformation, embodying the energy of renewal and strength.

Culturally, cloves have a remarkable history rooted in the Spice Islands of Indonesia. They were traded across Asia and the Middle East for thousands of years, reaching China as early as 400 BCE, where courtiers chewed them to freshen their breath before speaking to the emperor. In medieval Europe, cloves were prized not only for their flavor but also for their rarity, becoming symbols of wealth and prestige. Their medicinal properties were equally valued, used to ease pain, improve digestion, and preserve food. In African and Middle Eastern traditions, cloves were incorporated into protective and healing rituals, reinforcing their sacred role as a spice that bridged the physical and spiritual worlds.

Sagrada Madre
Sagrada Madre means ‘Holy Mother’, Pancha Mama, and this name reflects how they treat the Earth’s resources.

Besides charcoal, as a combustion agent, they use a scentless fruit-based biomass. Each year over 100 tons of fruit biomass is discarded from industrial processing such as juice making. Rather than letting these materials go to waste, Sagrada Madre effectively reuses them in their incense.

All Sagrada Madre incense variations are carefully packed in attractive natural packing material to create as little impact on the environment as possible.
