Sagrada Madre means ‘Holy Mother’, Pancha Mama, and this name reflects how they treat the Earth’s resources. For the Palo Santo harvesting, Sagrada Madre only uses the old tree branches that fell off the tree naturally. They work directly with native communities in Peru and Argentina to plant Palo Santo trees and battle deforestation. Also, Sagrada Madre makes sure to plant more trees than they use.

The indigenous people of the Andes have, for centuries, been using Palo Santo to ward off negative energy. When this Holy wood is burned, negative energy is purified, peace and harmony is restored and the connection with Mother Earth is empowered. According to tradition, Palo Santo is said to have a natural pain relieving, stress relieving and relaxing effect. Palo Santo has a pleasant refreshing and uplifting scent. The aroma of Palo Santo can help to clarify the aura and/or promote positive feelings and joy.

Champa incense is deeply rooted in Hindu and Buddhist traditions, where the scent is considered a bridge between the physical and spiritual realms, making it primarily associated with serenity, spiritual awakening, and purification. Its fragrance is revered for its potent ability to create a sacred atmosphere that aids practitioners in deepening their focus during meditation, prayer, or yoga by helping to quiet the mind and facilitate a connection with both their inner self and the divine. Champa is also widely utilized for space clearing rituals, effectively dispelling negative or stagnant energy and filling the environment with positive, uplifting vibrations, purifying the aura and promoting harmony and balance.

On an emotional level, the soothing aroma works to calm the nervous system, alleviate anxiety, and promote a profound sense of peace and relaxation. Furthermore, Nag Champa is believed to be particularly intertwined with the lower chakras—the root, sacral, and solar plexus—helping to harmonize and align these energy centers to foster stability, creativity, and inner strength. Ultimately, the Champa flower itself symbolizes purity, devotion, and new beginnings, and burning the incense is a symbolic act of inviting harmony and positive energy into one's life and surroundings.

Never leave burning incense unattended.
